Independent assessment

Read the report. Know the stone.

A laboratory report describes a diamond under defined assessment conditions. Read it carefully, verify it with the issuer and connect it to the stone you are buying.

IGI

A 4Cs-based report.

IGI laboratory-grown diamond reports describe carat weight, colour, clarity and relevant finish or cut information. The report identifies laboratory-grown origin and may include growth method or treatment information according to the service.

Individually reported stones are distinct from parcels or melee. Confirm which documentation is included in your order rather than assuming every small stone has its own report.

GIA

Read the report type.

Since October 1, 2025, GIA’s assessment for qualifying colourless to near-colourless laboratory-grown diamonds uses Premium or Standard designations. It should not be described as identical to conventional natural-diamond grading.

Older reports remain in circulation. Review the issue date and the actual report, and use the issuer’s verification service to confirm the record.

Before you confirm

Five things
worth checking.

  1. The issuer, report number and date match the verification record.
  2. Laboratory-grown origin is clearly disclosed on the relevant documents.
  3. Weight, dimensions, shape and report details match the offered stone.
  4. Any girdle inscription is checked against the report, where applicable.
  5. Growth method, treatment disclosures and the limits of the report are understood.

Quality control and grading
have different roles.

Our internal inspection checks manufacturing workmanship and the order requirements. Independent assessment provides a separate laboratory description.

A grading report is not an appraisal, proof of environmental performance or a guarantee of resale value. Traceability and responsible production claims require their own evidence.
